(Meralco), the country\u2019s largest power distributor, has energized a new substation in Sampaloc, Manila, as part of efforts to bolster electricity supply amid growing demand in the nation\u2019s capital.<br><br>The Manuel V. Pangilinan-led utility firm recently commissioned the 115 kilovolt (kV) \u2013 34.5 kV gas-insulated switchgear (GIS) substation with an initial capacity of 83 megavolt amperes (MVA). The facility is designed to enhance grid reliability and service efficiency in one of the capital\u2019s most densely populated districts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Sampaloc GIS Substation is expected to support a number of vital institutions, including the Jose R.
