Cebu Pacific (CEB) and Saudi Arabian low-cost carrier Flyadeal inked a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on Wednesday to explore strategic cooperation, including wet leasing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They will also explore cooperation in maintenance and engineering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The MOU signed in Para\u00f1aque City includes Flyadeal utilizing two of CEB’s Airbus A320 aircraft on a wet-lease arrangement for the upcoming summer peak season in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cebu Pacific is also examining wet-leasing Flyadeal A320s during the busy winter period in Southeast Asia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cToday\u2019s agreement is momentous as it marks Flyadeal\u2019s first ever strategic airline partnership. It was clear and obvious that Flyadeal could learn a lot from Cebu Pacific\u2019s experience of low-cost long-haul operations, given we will be inducting the same A330-900neos into our fleet in just two years\u2019 time,” Flyadeal chief executive officer (CEO) Steven Greenway said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He added that wide-ranging commercial discussions are in the pipeline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“There are great benefits in sharing technical knowledge, training, and best practice in preparation for our A330 induction and, of course, we are both A320 operators,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CEB CEO Mike Szucs said the partnership with Flyadeal highlights Cebu Pacific\u2019s growing capability to support international carriers through wet leasing and broader operational collaboration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“It diversifies our revenue streams and further expands Cebu Pacific\u2019s presence beyond the Asia Pacific region,” Szucs said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
