We see the midterm elections will lead to higher demand in energy and higher WESM prices. Furthermore, we expect its hydro segment to rebound this year because of the absence of El Nino and the full contribution of its Casecnan Hydroelectric Power Plant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:26px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Analysis and Opinion<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Earnings results<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>FGEN reported a 2024 core net income of US$245 million, 12% down year-on-year. Consolidated revenues slipped by 3% to US$2.4 billion. The natural gas\u2019s contribution in earnings grew 12% on the back of savings in operating expenses and lower interest expenses for Santa Rita Power Plant and the San Lorenzo Power Plant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>EDC\u2019s core net income dropped by 36% due to a reduction in electricity sold and higher operating expenses.
