PEHI remains PHN\u2019s most profitable subsidiary, and as such it accounts for 45% of our valuation of PHN as a conglomerate. Moving forward, we expect PEHI to be an even larger contributor to profits as PHN\u2019s other business segments (construction materials and property development) continue to encounter headwinds. Considering the aggressive expansion plans of PEHI, we reiterate our STRONG BUY rating on PHN with a Target Price of P32.23 per share.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

PHN acquires SJC Dasmari\u00f1as for P431.8 Million<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Phinma Education Holdings, Inc. (PEHI) has reached a deal to acquire a 94.6% stake in Saint Jude College (SJC) Dasmari\u00f1as in Cavite for P431.8-Million, adding around 3,000 students to its network and bringing the total to 167,000. SJC Dasma will be the tenth school in PEHI\u2019s Philippine network, and the third SJC campus along with SJC Manila and SJC Quezon City. This is PEHI\u2019s first acquisition since the closing of KKR\u2019s P2.5-Billion initial investment into PHN\u2019s education subsidiary, and the company is currently looking at other acquisition targets in Metro Manila, Bacolod, and Davao, as well as international expansions in Indonesia, Cambodia, and Vietnam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Getting bigger faster than we expected<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

PEHI has already surpassed our forecast of around 161,000 students by year-end 2024, and the company is on track to meet its enrolment target of 175,000 students by 2025. Taking a more long-term view, PEHI is also likely to meet its very ambitious goal of 350,000 students in the next five years, making it the largest private school network in the Philippines, if not in Southeast Asia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
