We previously upgraded and currently retain our Target Price of JFC to P335.28 emphasizing our confidence in the company\u2019s growth prospects. We reiterate our BUY rating for JFC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Analysis and Opinion<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

No more land ownership<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

JFC is amending its Articles of Incorporation with the purpose of removing its ability to directly own real estate. The ratification of which will be taken up during the annual shareholders meeting (ASM) followed by seeking the SEC\u2019s approval for its effectivity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Current land laws in the Philippines limits foreign ownership to 40%, with the exception of telecommunications, airlines, domestic shipping, and railways. JFC being a company that owns land directly means that it falls within the parameters of limited foreign ownership. Upon passing of the amendment, this would remove JFC from firms subject to the 40% foreign ownership limits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

More opportunities<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

We see this as a beneficial move for JFC given the fact that interest rates are expected to remain higher-for-longer, which means that tapping the debt market would incur additional interest expenses to the company. This move allows them to attract more foreign investments, opening up opportunities for additional capital infusion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
