{"id":324399,"date":"2023-08-11T00:31:50","date_gmt":"2023-08-10T16:31:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pinoyinvestor.com\/smartinvestor\/?p=324399"},"modified":"2023-08-11T01:01:57","modified_gmt":"2023-08-10T17:01:57","slug":"stock-replace-mpi-in-psei","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pinoyinvestor.com\/smartinvestor\/stock-replace-mpi-in-psei\/","title":{"rendered":"This stock will likely replace MPI once delisted from the PSEi in September"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Analysis and Recommendation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>During Metro Pacific Investments Corp.\u2019s (MPI) Special Stockholder\u2019s Meeting earlier this week, the listed conglomerate secured the approval from at least 2\/3 of the current shareholders to delist the stock after the tender offer period which will immediately start on August 9, 2023 and will run until September 7, 2023. Furthermore, less than 1% of the current shareholders voted against the delisting of the stock.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Our View:<\/strong> The approvals are in and MPI is now one step away from delisting its stock after almost 17 years of being a publicly-listed company. While MPI will still need acquire at least 95% of all outstanding shares, or that number that the PSE will accept as an acceptable threshold, we think this tender offer will get completed especially given the positive investors feedback we\u2019ve been getting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A new PSEi member should be welcomed by mid-September. Given the market\u2019s reaction, positioning for the inclusion of <strong>Bloomberry Resorts Corop.
