Our View:<\/strong> Elevated sugar prices have led to Coca-cola downsizing its operations via plant shutdowns. We expect this to potentially lead to higher prices for the beverage in the short term as a result of the diminished production amidst sustained demand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n While this will highly likely lead to increased procurement costs for restaurants and retailers, we want to emphasize that heading into the 2nd Half (2H) 2022, both segments are bound to see much revenue upside from the return of F2F classes for students. Furthermore, the looming holiday season should also see a general increase in consumers\u2019 purchasing power. As seen in their 1st half (1H) 2022 results, companies from both the retail and restaurant segments have shown the ability to deal with higher input costs through means such as OPEX management, offering of higher margin products, and acquisitions of inventory at favorable terms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Given this, our picks for both segments are PGOLD (Target Price: P56.35), RRHI (Target Price: P87.20), PIZZA (Target Price: P9.88) and MAXS (Target Price: P7.72).
